In the past most procedures were performed at a hospital or ambulatory surgical center. Now, these same procedures can be performed right in the office at The Women’s Centre for Well Being in The Woodlands, TX. These minimally invasive procedures do not require a hospital stay, and you can go right home afterward.

Common In-Office Procedures
Many of these are common in-office procedures.
Endometrial Ablation
This procedure treats abnormal bleeding and is an excellent alternative to hysterectomy. There are several techniques available to remove (ablate) the lining of the uterus. Consult with Dr. Gregory Eads about which is right for you.
Laparoscopy
Any laparoscopic procedure uses a tiny incision with a tiny camera inserted into the incision allowing the doctor to perform the procedure using a video camera.
Cystoscopy
This is a procedure to view the urinary tract including the bladder, urethra, and opening to the uterus. It is performed to identify and diagnose signs of cancer, narrowing, bleeding, blockage, and infection. Tissue may be removed for biopsy.
Colposcopy
This is an examination of the cervix, vagina, and vulva to detect any disease using a colposcope. This exam is usually scheduled after an abnormal PAP test. Dr. Gregory Eads takes a small sample of tissue for biopsy. The procedure takes approximately 20 minutes, and it is considered uncomfortable but not painful according to most patients.
LEEP
This procedure is used to remove and evaluate precancerous cells from the cervix. It is non-invasive using an electrosurgical excision procedure under a local anesthetic.
IUD
An IUD, or intrauterine device, is a small flexible T-shaped device placed inside the uterus which contains hormones to prevent pregnancy. It is a long-lasting contraceptive and pregnancy can be prevented from 3 to 10 years depending on the type chosen.
